choke on that causality

Now with paradox correcting time codes.

I noticed today at work that IE6 was really not liking my blog.  I had added a float to the post divs on my site, because as some of us geeks know about floats, is that they will stretch over other floats inside them (like the floated images on my pet page). If I hadn’t put all that wrapped text in there, the background of the page would not have contained my menagerie of animals. So I added a float, and that should have fixed my issue…and it did in Firefox (and IE7). But noooo..I had to remove it so the masses could still read my rants.

The moral of the story…IE6 sucks. Don’t use it.

Absurd iPod AccessoryGoing a bit overboard with the iPod accessories…This is actually a real product according to a PC World blog and was shown at the CES Show in Las Vegas.

iPod Shuffles in new colorsHave you seen the new iPod Shuffle colors. I kind of want one. They’ve never had an orange iPod before. I’d really like to get one, but I have a feeling I would end up being too lazy to change up the songs. Like a while back I had asked for a personal mp3 cd player and I used it a few times and that was it. It’s collecting dust in a drawer somewhere. But I suppose this is being toted as more of a fashion accessory. So who knows… I dunno. I don’t want to spend 80 bucks on it if I’m not going to use it. Anyone out there have one?

If you are sick of POP3 mail like I was, then you should check out IMAP. The problem with POP3 is that once you download the email, it is no longer on the server, and you can only access your mail from the one machine and one client (like Outlook) that you downloaded it to. IMAP, on the other hand, keeps the email on the server, and an email client can sync with it. It is a great email protocol to use for those of us that want to access our mail from multiple machines using multiple email clients. I can access my email now at work in addition to my default exchange email, and I can access it from both my laptop and desktop home computers.

IMAP is not available through all email providers but there are some free services you can try out. IMAP services were included with my domain, but AIM offers this service for free. It’s worth a look.

Today the kitties and pigs played together in the pig pen. Makalu would try to pounce on them but then back out at the last minute, and Quentin would try to chew on the hair of Makalu’s tail. It was so cute. Makalu even got into one of the pig igloos - It was a tight fit.

Today Kristen Davis was on The View and she said that there is a very good chance that there is going to be a Sex and the City movie. I’m already excited!

Tomorrow is kittie’s first vet appt. I bet he’s going to love that. Oh btw…check out the new Pets page I put up. It has cute pictures of the whole lot of animals we got.

I don’t know what my problem is. I need to start taking Xanax more often or something. It seems like I always get invited to these meetings and I don’t really know anyone, and I just get this feeling like I can’t speak up and say anything during discussions. I have relevant things to say, I think. I sometimes feel like I’m just some stupid kid. I know that is so completely lame. There is a large generational gap here at work. And it is strange…but I just need to get over it.

Another thing I’ve noticed about meetings. What is up with people and their blackberries? Why do you attend a meeting if you are just going to flip through your blackberry emails the whole time? It seems like people have this need to feel connected through their electronic devices. Is is safety? Are we so used to contacting people through email, IM, and text messages that we would just rather keep it that way? It’s like IMing the person in the cube next to you at work. Even I’m to blame.
