choke on that causality

Now with paradox correcting time codes.

Sweet Zombie Jesus! For those of you haven’t heard, Futurama is returning to television, or are they movies now…? Here is a link to an interview with Matt Groening talking about the Simpsons Movie and futurama coming to Comedy Central. I’m getting really excited about it. He seems to think it could go on for more seasons past the cut-up-dvds….which sound a little odd by the way, but I’m sure they’ll make it work.

I have been reading some rumors lately about a new Star Trek Movie to be released in in late 2008. From what I’ve read it will be take place after “Enterprise” but before “Star Trek”. It may actually have characters from the original Start Trek that are young, which I’m not really thrilled about, because I’ve never been a fan of the original Star Trek series or movies. I’m a huge of fan of the TNG, Voyager, and Enterprise. Honestly I was hoping for a Next Next Generation movie. Anyone else? Also, the movie will be directed by J.J. Abrams, creator of the tv show Lost, which I also do not watch. Ah well. At least the franchise is still alive. For the time being, I can still obsess over Voyager re-runs on Spike TV.

Why is it that I can amuse myself and feel that I can somewhat amuse others by talking about virtually nothing, but I’m usually annoyed to hear the idle chat of people around me. Like, today for instance I swear I heard some of the most pointless conversations. One about laundry, and another about cholesterol. Double standards…ha.

I read an article recently about how college kids and “Generation Me” are a bunch of self-centered brats. They seem to blame it on parents constantly telling their children how “special” they are. I, for one, am sickened by the amount of little girls whose parents let them dress up in princess costumes and wear tiaras and make-up and shit.

I, for one…what the hell does that mean. For one what, one person? I, as an individual, think something…I guess it’s one of those phrases whose literal meaning is lost…at least to me.

Last night I had the strangest dream. I dreamt that Britney Spears and Kevin Federline camped out in my parents garage, and we couldn’t get them to leave. And I took pictures of us together to prove to people that I met Britney. But no one believed me.

Hmm…the word “dreamt” really threw off my spell checker. I looked it up. It is a word. Imagine having used the word “dreamed”. Ha.

Isn’t it funny when you hear people whispering at work? It just makes me want to listen in even more than usual. Silly coworkers.

I feel guilty for not being able to finish watching An Inconvenient Truth - I’m sure it was good, I just have a somewhat limited attention span. But anyhow, I’m doing my part…check this out. Top 50 Things To Do To Stop Global Warming. A lot of these things you don’t think about. I never used to recycle, but it’s actually pretty easy. Especially if you have your own Mike to do most of the work ;-) while I sit back and blog about it. (Let’s see if he reads these)

During our weekly Walmart trip I noticed that they have all the Easter stuff out. Mike kept trying to sneak candies into the cart. I said he could have some Peeps and that was it. Heheh. Nobody wants Peeps.

I downloaded my first Virtual Console game on my Wii - Super Mario World. It’s dangerous that you can buy stuff so easily with your credit card. I have that cute little class controller so I figured I’d finally get something to play. Oh nostalgia.

Added a new stuffed animal to my collection (Big-Footed Bear Rhinocerton) as well as a couple of new Littlest Pet shop guys - a sheep and a Lop bunny. Very cute. I know I’m such a child.

The Academy awards are on tonight. Since everything else is re-running tonight, I guess we will probably be watching that. I don’t have any strong feelings about any particular person or movie winning anything. I enjoyed Little Miss Sunshine, but I doubt that will win.

I’ve been watching the E! pre-show. “You clean up nicely” is not such a great compliment, Mr. Ryan Seacrest. “Who are you wearing?” is such an odd question isn’t it. Jennifer Hudson is wearing this hideous gold jacket thing. yuck.

I’ve been seeing a lot of Windows Vista commercials. I want it…but like on a play computer, where I don’t have to worry about anything critical being able to actually run. Isn’t that sad? That I’m only prepared to use Windows Vista in a test environment.

My DVR has been doing some very strange things lately.

  1. Reboots randomly - sometimes up to 3 times in a row.
  2. It will records only part of some shows - maybe caused because of the reboots.
  3. My recordings started point to the wrong channels and I had to reset them all. It sucked, cause nothing seemed to be taping.
  4. The “Guide” button will stop working, and have to use the channel up and down buttons
  5. The tv will go into dimmed mode and just stay that way until I reboot.
  6. Ya know how when you open the guide, the viewable tv area goes to about a quarter size. Ocassionally, it has just stayed like that until I reboot.

Alright I was on hold for about a 1/2 hour with Time Warner Cable, and I now have an appt for troubleshooting (not until over a week). The woman I spoke to was very nice though, and said I could try to just go ahead and switch it out before that if I take it to the local office. She also signed me up for digital phone service in addition to my current plan for even less than I was paying before. So hopefully this all works out. I’ll let you know.

The computers we have at work have a specific hotkey combo that will rotate the orientation of the monitor. Not many people know about it, but Ctrl+Alt+Down Arrow will flip the screen upside down. Wouldn’t that be a great prank to play on people? I think so. I’ll let ya know if I try it out.
