I really liked this movie. It’s about an odd-ball family who goes on a cross country trip in a Volkswagen van to California, in order for a little girl to be in the Little Miss Sunshine Beauty Pageant. The whole family is nuts. The father is obsessed with his 9 step motivational system and will not shut up about it. The son has taken a vow of silence until he becomes a pilot, and is quite teen-angsty. The uncle is a gay suicidal college professor (Also that guy in the 40-year old virgin). The stuff that happens to these people…You just have to watch it to believe it…makes for good entertainment. 4 out of 5 stars. You should see this movie.
Okay. I know I was bitching about the cold last night. But this is just absolutely absurd. It was -3 degrees this morning. The schools were all closed for extreme temperature conditions. I can see my breath in the stair wells at work, and many of the windows are completely frosted over. Something is really wrong with that. I should be at home snuggled up with my fuzzy kitty (in my imagination he is a nice kitty that doesn’t bite me).
Speaking of Makalu, we took him to the vet the other day, and he was sooooo bad. He would not sit still for the vet. And he had to get a little test for feline leukemia so the doctor took him into the back to take some blood. He screamed and screamed! It was awful. We could hear him from rooms away. Poor kitty. I can imagine him just biting and scratching the vet. We usually see a different vet (that sees “exotics” like rats), but he was on vacation. At least we don’t have to face that vet again. He said Makalu was very “independent”. That is vet nice talk for “mean little kitty”. Ah well. I love him - Makalu, not the vet.
The things people not only do, but also put on the internet…I found this today, and couldn’t resist posting it. How…Why…I don’t know, I guess I talk about some completely random things…but nailing jelly to a wall. It takes a special kinda person.
