If you haven’t heard of R Family Vacations, it’s a cruise vacation company run by Rosie O’Donnell’s partner and friend. They promote family friendly vacations designed for the gay and gay-friendly community. I guess that they are responding to concerns over a series of church groups saying they will protest at the arrival of the cruise ship. A similar event occurred in Nassau in 2004, and they decided they did not want a repeat.
I completely understand and support the itinerary change. It is a vacation meant for families to be free and comfortable, and the last thing they want is to be met with protest especially when there are so many children aboard.
Rosie said that some like 80 churches have said that they would protest. It’s strange to me. I just don’t get religion. So many people consider it the core of their beliefs and morals. Strange that it ends up meaning fear, intolerance, and even hate. Is that what’s going to get these people into their heaven?
