choke on that causality

Now with paradox correcting time codes.

I was just on the phone and I swear to chebus I ended the conversation with:

“Great. That would be thanks!”

Hehe. The other day Mike said while he was at work, he was talking to someone and instead of using the word “toilet”, he said “terlit”. Ha.

I’m incredibly exhausted. I really should have taken all those people up on their offers to help with the moving. I’m so freakin out of shape. I’m all achy and shite. And we aren’t even close to being done getting the house together. There is just crap everywhere at both places at this point. It’s amazing I was able to find most everything I needed to get ready for work this morning.

I was left with choosing a color for the kitchen because Mike was working when I went to the paint store. I had told him I wanted blue, but he said to make sure it wasn’t too cartoony looking especially with the yellow in the family room next to it. So what color did I choose? Smurf Blue! Ha. The actual name was “Dazzle”. But it turned out looking pretty good. I’ll post pics later.

Finally got the keys to the house yesterday. My first act in the new house was taking down that awful farm scene wallpaper in the kitchen. I’m about half done. Oh and it really freakin sucks. I think I finally got the hang of it now though so it should go easier.

I was only there for about an hour and a neighbor already stopped by to say hello. She was very, very nice, and had her two dogs with her. Not that I’m a complete hermit and prefer my isolation….but I’m just not into the whole being best buddies with my neighbors. We’ll see. It could be much worse. I could have to continue to live in trash central for the rest of my life. Ugh.

So Mike has to work for the next 3 nights straight…and there is so much work to do before Monday when we do the actual move. At the bare minimum we have to paint the kitchen, dining room (soon to be den), and both bathrooms. So should be a tiring weekend.

We bought a cute little Toyota truck a couple of days ago. It’s been really convenient. We no longer have to try and coordinate how we will each get to and from work.

Oh I want to say congrats to all my friends who suddenly have little babies. That’s crazy. Very cute though :-)

I’ve been having trouble concentrating lately. Probably just because I can’t get my mind off of the house. I’m obsessed. I drive by it everyday at least twice. It sucks to own it, but not be able to live there yet…but I suppose it could be worse…some people have to wait 30 days. Damn. That would suck.

Mike made snickerdoodle cookies for me to bring in to work to celebrate the whole house buying thing. They are really good.

I filled up my gas tank this past weekend. Over 36 dollars! For my little Toyota Corolla. WTF. It’s times like this that it kinda sucks working for a big oil company….No I don’t get a discount. I wish.

Mike and I own a house now. We just can’t live in it for another week or so. We bought some new furniture and new bed over the weekend. We’re also looking to buy that truck still. No, I’m not Mr. money bags…quite the opposite. Credit. Gotta love it (and hate it).

All cut upI bought these little blue caps to put on my cat’s claws so he won’t ruin all our stuff. What a huge pain in the ass to get these things on. I got scratched and bit all to hell. Yesterday I managed to get 7 out of 10 to stay on all by myself. Mike helped today and we got two 2 more. Almost there. Although I bet at least 2 more have fallen off before I get home tonight.

My landlord already called yesterday and wanted to show the apartment. What a freakin mess. There is no way in hell that anyone wants to see that.

I’m so god damn sick of people being rude and inconsiderate to me. If I had a job as a customer service representative…well, first of all I would only have that type of job if I enjoyed speaking with and helping people…secondly, I would expect to be reprimanded or fired if I was as rude to customers as people are to me. When did that bullshit become acceptable? I think I’ve written about this before. It seems to be a staple among city and state workers like at the DMV or the Water department. I’m sick of it.

I guess this makes me think of capitalism and competitiveness in the market. In order to be competitive, companies strive to be better or more attractive to their customers i.e. lower prices, better customer service, higher quality of service. With people who work at the DMV, or the DOT (airport security), or the local water department…it just doesn’t apply. There is no competition. So shouldn’t there be stricter standards to regulate those attributes which would normally be improved by natural market activities?

Hows can we do something about this?
