Thanks to Andrew for giving me the idea to write so many random things about myself. Enjoy.
1. Everyone probably already knows this, but I collect littlest pet shop toys.
I have over a hundred. I love them. I keep them all on a shelf above the
fireplace. I’m worried that one day it will fall down from all the weight.
2. I think that rats make great pets! I had a rat named Piper who I loved very
much, and I decided to get her a friend, Willow, who turned out to be
pregnant, and she had 5 baby girls. Funny how that worked out. Their names
were Casey, Parker, Carmen, Hailey (Princess), and Kailey (Pinkus). After they
all died, I got my first little boy ratty Peyton. He was wonderful as well. We
had to get him put to sleep not too long ago though because he was getting old
and stuff. He is buried in our back yard. All the other rats are buried in
Mike’s parents garden. We may get another pet rat someday…I’m not sure yet.
3. I went to a Catholic school for grades K-8. We didn’t have to wear
uniforms, but we did have to go to church every Friday (or was it Thursday…I
can’t remember…I’ve repressed all those memories.)
4. One time when I was very young, I got a bead stuck up my nose, and had to
go to the hospital to get it removed with big long scary tweezers. It was
pretty traumatic.
5. My current job title is Information Technology Systems Integrator. Sounds
fancy, but not so much really…
6. I met my partner Mike at a bar called Uptown in Bowling Green, OH. We used
to go on Tuesday night which is was drag/gay night. We flirted with each other
for a couple of years before we were both finally not dating other people. The
rest is history I suppose.
7. I used to love to wear big raver pants called Kikwear. Do you remember
those? Gasp…the embarassment. I’d totally post a picture if I can find
one…
8. I smoked cigarettes from the ages of 14 - 18. I quit a few months after I
was finally old enough to buy them legally. Haven’t smoked one cigarette since
then.
9. I went to college at the University of Findlay where I received a Bachelor
of Science in both Mathematics and Computer Science. I graduated Summa Cum
Laude.
10. I went to Graduate school at Bowling Green State University where I
received a Master of Science in Computer Science.
11. While in Grad School, I also lived in Bowling Green for almost 2 years,
and I had the greatest group of friends. You know who you are. We were the
biggest of drunks though! I loved the bar crawls in downtown BG. We escaped
from all the drama that was Uptown. But we still went there too. Aww…Good
times.
12. I used to have my tongue pierced. Only for a couple of years though. I got
sick of accidentally biting it while eating.
13. I have no tattos, but I’ve always wanted one of the little worm from
Labyrinth. I think I’d get it behind one of my shoulders.
14. I developed a 3-D version of minesweeper for my final grad project. It was
kinda cool. I got really really good at minesweeper throughout that process…
15. My mom is the oldest of 9 children. Rosita, Raquel, Rebecca, Ruby, Raul,
Maria, Rosario, Rene, and Patricia.
16. My middle name is Arredondo. So is my sister’s, and most of my cousins.
17. I love to decoupage. Well I love the finished product anyway. The actual
process is quite messy and frustrating, and I always seem to have dried glue
all over me all the time. But I’ve made a couple of really cool tables, and
collages in the past couple of years. I making one right now actually.
18. I hate mushrooms. I think they taste like dirt. Or I guess what I imagine
dirt would taste like..
19. I drive a 2005 Blue Toyota Corolla. I call it ‘Carsy’.
20. I have one older sister. She is 2 years and 2 days older than me. She is
married with 3 kids: Isabel, Tyler, and Chayse.
21. I love the Pixar movies. Especially Finding Nemo. Mike thinks it is just
too sad when his mom, and all his brothers and sisters die in the beginning.
But it really is a great movie. And it is so colorful, and makes me happy.
22. I have two pet cats. Both Himalayan. Makalu (Muh-Kay-Loo) is a boy, and we
named him after a mountain in the Himalayas. He is our resident greeter in the
house. He always sprawls out in front of the door welcomes us home. Talula, is
still just a little baby girl. The name comes from the Tori Amos song. She is
laziest of the kitties. She sleeps all day until I’m trying to work at the
computer and then she tries to jump up on the keyboard, or when I go to bed
she pounces on my feet.
23. I’ve always wanted a yellow or chocolate lab named Sammy. I had a black
lab growing up named Cinder, and Mike had a yellow lab named Buddy. I always
talk about Sammy like he really exists. Like he will be our well behaved dog.
24. Mike and I have one dog. Her name is Kaelyn Calliope or KC for short. She
is kinda like a miniture beagle. She looks like a beagle same coloring, but
she has a narrower snout and skinnier legs like some sort of terrier. She is
our unexpected little baby. We weren’t planning for her, but when our friend
Jamie brought her over we fell in love. She barks a little too much, and she
tends to jump up on me and step on my crouch a little too often…But she
loves to pass out on of her dads and snore away.
25. Speaking of dads…I’m Daddy #1. Mike is Daddy #2.
26. I’m half hispanic. My mom grew up in Laredo, Texas which is right on the
border of Mexico. My grandfather’s brothers were migrant workers, so he came
to Ohio with them to find work. Eventually him and his family just stayed put.
27. My father is from Richmond, Indiana. He is of English/Irish descent.
28. I have a pet hamster named Leela, named after the character from Futurama,
and she is quite possibly one of the cutest things ever. We call her the stink
monster. She hates us with a passion. You can see her with her little beady
eyes wishing death and destruction upon you. Don’t try to pick her up while
she is sleeping. She’ll try to take your finger off. But she’s usually pretty
good about being handled otherwise.
29. I enjoy playing tennis, even though I suck horribly at it.
30. You will rarely see me wear shorts. I’m a little self consious about my
skinny legs.
31. I’m not a fan of being barefoot or even being in just socks. I must have
shoes or slippers on at all times. I’ve went through so many pairs of
slippers. It’s crazy. By the way, don’t put slippers in the washing machine.
They will just fall apart. You always think it’ll be different next time…but
it isn’t.
32. I used to use Proactiv solution, and it actually worked quite well, but I
also ruined all of my sheets and pillowcases, and a bunch of the collars of my
shirts. That shit is like bleach, and it costs a lot…so I quit.
33. Speaking of pillows…I’m a huge fan of the cool side of the pillow.
Somebody needs to invent some sort of pillow cooler. I’d totally buy it.
34. I’m somewhat hooked on energy drinks. I used to drink tab energy all the
time, but it’s getting more difficult to come by. So now I drink Sobe
Adrenaline Rush (Sugar free of course) or Monster lo-carb.
35. We have a big beautiful 46 gallon bowed fish tank with no fish in it. We
used to have awesome gold fish with beautiful tails…but they all got sick
and died. We haven’t gotten any more yet.
36. I’d like to think that when I retire, I’ll live on an alpaca farm. And
I’ll name each and every one…but Mike will do all the work 
37. I try not to say “Bless you” when people sneeze. I know it is mostly a
courtesy thing, but I try not to say it because I don’t really get what that’s
supposed to mean. I don’t want to imply anything.
38. I have two pet guinea pigs. One white/brown fatty, Oliver, and one black
and brown little cutie, Quentin. They live for carrots.
39. I wear boxer briefs. Always.
40. I wore braces for 9 months. Pretty much my entire sophomore year in high
school. But I’m sooo grateful. It was worth it, cause I had some scary teeth
before that…
41. I think that the reading layout in Microsoft Word is evil and must be
stopped.
42. I have Ubuntu Linux on my home desktop. I have Windows XP on my laptop.
I’m not really interested in Vista at this point. Is anyone?
43. Every day I watch The View over my lunch break (well at least the hot
topics part-that’s where I get most of my news.)
44. I love Google Reader! If you don’t use it, then you are missing out.
45. I’m one of the few people (besides my mom) that I know of that actually
likes black licorice.
46. My favorite place to shop is probably Banana Republic, although I
shouldn’t really shop there because it is still a little pricier than I’d
like. So I usually go straight for the sale racks in the back.
47. I think I dated maybe 3 girls ever throughout high school. I was pretty
much done with that by 17. I was happy to have good friends; it made things
much easier. I can’t imagine having sex with a girl. I wouldn’t know what
to do…
48. I get deja vu all the fucking time. In fact, I’m having it right now!
49. The name of my blog comes from an episode of Futurama. The one where
they go back in time to Roswell. That is the best fucking show!
