choke on that causality

Now with paradox correcting time codes.

Well, Stoy is pretty boring. I’m not doing a whole lot. The guy I’m with does this training visits all the time, so he does most of the work, and I just chime in when I have something to add, or help if someone has a questions.

Typical questions are like

How do I create a signature to use in Microsoft Outlook?
How do I share my local printer?
How do I defragment my hard drive?
How do I set up an email distribution list?

Stuff like that. So it isn’t too difficult. The hotel is pretty boring. I just stayed in my room all night. Played on the internet…and went to bed early. At least there is free high speed internet. I’m sick of having to pay like $9.99 a night or whatever. The free breakfast was great…sarcasm. Cereal, muffins, and bagels, and some watered down coffee. I’ve been drinking coffee like crazy lately. I will drink it all day long now. I crave it in the evenings now too. Maybe I have Epstein Barr or chronic fatigue…or maybe I’m just lazy. I have no idea if that is how that is how you spell Epsteanbar. I don’t really care either. So there..ha!

Anyhow. I have nothing better to do right now except blog about nothing. I heard that it is official and Anna Nicole died of a drug overdose. Did anyone ever doubt that? I’m still actually interested in finding out who the baby’s daddy is. I know I shouldn’t care. Wouldn’t it be crazy if it turns out that the father was her son Daniel…ha ha….wouldn’t that be a crazy soap opera twist.

Okay. I’m a little peeved because I had a blog all started yesterday, and my computer crashed and I lost it. I don’t even remember what it was about, so I can only assume it was the best blog ever…and now it’s gone. Plus I seem to have lost all of my Firefox settings. That is annoying having to click through all those secure page warnings shit.

Today I’m off on a work field trip. I will get to see some small towns in Illinois like Stoy and Robinson. Never been there, so it should be interesting. We’ll have some basic computer training, and we’ll help answer any technical questions or whatever. I went on one trip to Michigan last year. It was alright. Eh. It’ll be nice to get out of the office for a few days.

So today’s high is 78. That’s crazy. I’m so over all this snowy/rainy/cold bullshit. Maybe I’ll actually start to get out of the house and do stuff. We’ll see.

I’m all packed, but I have that feeling like I’m forgetting something. I do have deodorant. That’s an important one. Hmm…I’m sure there is something missing. I should have internet access while I’m gone, and since I really have nothing else to do but play DS, I’ll probably be blogging while away. I can tell you about all my exciting adventures ;-)

I’m so sick of constantly messing with my hair. I want to do the Britney Spears thang and just shave it off. It’s just been a big frizzy mess so I might as well.

I’ve been pretty busy lately. Yesterday I had a Microsoft Business Intelligence Seminar in Columbus. It was pretty good. I wish we would upgrade to SQL Server 2005 already here at work so I can play with Analysis Services. And I bet I could make some awesome reports if I just had the right tools available to me. I guess I will have to make due with Cognos for the time being.

Enough work talk. Alright, I broke down and got a Flickr account, and I’m trying to do the whole integrate a photo gallery into my blog…and it’s starting out ok. I’ll tell you what bugs me about Wordpress plugins though…There are so many different plugins to do very similar things, and a lot of them integrate other tools or plugins like lightbox, or scriptaculous, that it starts to get confusing which tools I’m using. And don’t get me started on all the extra markup and conflicting css and shit that has crept into many of my pages. I’ve modified my blog’s theme so much now to get it to look how I want it, that I’m pretty much stuck with for a while now. Every time I try to switch it, it just looks like shit. so whatever.

Wow this is turning out to be the most uninteresting post ever. At least go check out my pictures…I haven’t even dented my photo collection in terms of uploading to Flickr…oh and I’m really looking forward to tagging and adding titles and descriptions to everything…not really. Don’t you just hate those people who keep all their photos and mp3s all organized into nice neat little folders with all their tags and id3s up to date? I only hate you because I really wish I had the time or motivation to do that to my stuff. We’ll see. More photos to come.

I have been reading some rumors lately about a new Star Trek Movie to be released in in late 2008. From what I’ve read it will be take place after “Enterprise” but before “Star Trek”. It may actually have characters from the original Start Trek that are young, which I’m not really thrilled about, because I’ve never been a fan of the original Star Trek series or movies. I’m a huge of fan of the TNG, Voyager, and Enterprise. Honestly I was hoping for a Next Next Generation movie. Anyone else? Also, the movie will be directed by J.J. Abrams, creator of the tv show Lost, which I also do not watch. Ah well. At least the franchise is still alive. For the time being, I can still obsess over Voyager re-runs on Spike TV.

Why is it that I can amuse myself and feel that I can somewhat amuse others by talking about virtually nothing, but I’m usually annoyed to hear the idle chat of people around me. Like, today for instance I swear I heard some of the most pointless conversations. One about laundry, and another about cholesterol. Double standards…ha.

I read an article recently about how college kids and “Generation Me” are a bunch of self-centered brats. They seem to blame it on parents constantly telling their children how “special” they are. I, for one, am sickened by the amount of little girls whose parents let them dress up in princess costumes and wear tiaras and make-up and shit.

I, for one…what the hell does that mean. For one what, one person? I, as an individual, think something…I guess it’s one of those phrases whose literal meaning is lost…at least to me.

I changed my blog’s theme. I’m not sure how I feel about it yet. I like it, but I dunno. I want something clean, and easy to use. I’ll keep tweaking it or find something better.

Today I saw some interesting characters around town. At the pet store there was this woman in a wheelchair, and it looked like she may have just gotten a cast taken off of her leg. It was all gross blueish dead looking and all hairy like a man’s leg. I can’t imagine why anyone would be seen in public like that. Then at Meijer there was this white trash family full of little boys with mullets. I didn’t see the mother I but sure as hell heard her yelling at the top of her lungs to her bratty ass children. “Leave your brother alone…I mean it”…blah blah…”We’re gonna go right home…” I hate that shit. Also saw this woman with the most awful wig. Like big curly Dolly Parton hair.

I don’t even know why we went to Meijer in the first place. But once we were there, I had the urge to see if they still made erasable pens. Apparently they do, but they must have really come down in demand, cause there weren’t many. I used to use them all the time in the 4th grade. They always wrote like shit like in a dotted line. And you could only erase them in the first few minutes. Wonder if they’ve become more advanced since then…

I read somewhere that 10 lists were a fun way to blog. Enjoy.

  1. I smoked for 4 years, but I quit 2984 days ago.
  2. I used to have a tongue piercing.
  3. I’ve never been in a car accident, or broken an appendage.
  4. You couldn’t pay me to wear pleated pants.
  5. I don’t know how to tie a tie - There’s always been someone around to do it for me.
  6. I sleep with stuffed animals. A bunch of them.
  7. I have probably seen every episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer about 10 times each. If you do the math…That’s a smidge over 60 full days of Buffy…hmmm…I thought it would be more.
  8. I somehow managed to graduate summa cum laude.
  9. I once held the title “Director of Information Technology”.
  10. My favorite movie is Labyrinth. Yes, the one with David Bowie.
