If you haven’t already heard….Recently J.K. Rowling, the author of the Harry Potter books announced that the character of Albus Dumbledore was gay.
I like it. And I’m not upset she never mentioned it in the books. In fact, the thought never occurred to me that Dumbledore might be gay. I’m not trying to read into it too much and say it’s a political statement. But it does says something about life and people. So someone is gay. That really shouldn’t change your opinion of them now…should it?

So I know I haven’t posted in almost a full week. That is strange for me…but I’ve been pretty absorbed in the final Harry Potter book. I finally finished reading it this morning and it was wonderful. I loved it. I won’t post any spoilers because I would be pissed had I read any.
Yeah I’ve been a super hermit. Just staying home reading, doing miscellaneous projects about the house. Attending to my menagerie of animals. They’re a handful.
I don’t remember if I mentioned…but I lost 12 pounds on my diet. I’m pretty content with that. All of my pants seem to fit all right now…so I’m happy. I guess it doesn’t take much…just wanted to fit into my clothes. Now if only I had the will to exercise…

I haven’t been up to much of anything lately, besides reading Harry Potter, and trying to finish up some random projects around the house….of course it is those unnecessary projects like painting endtables and cabinets…when I should probably be painting the bathroom. It has just sat there with a prime coat on it for weeks…Or how about the mountain of unpacked crap in the guest bedroom. Ugh. I get overwhelmed every time I think about it.
Today I went to the eye doctor. Ya know every single time I go I forget to bring sunglasses with me. So I got my eyes dilated, and then they gave me these horribly embarassing coiled shades that just uncoil and kinda hug your face. I couldn’t bear to wear them. I’d sooner get in an accident. So it was fun driving home. It’s not like I couldn’t see…it was just that my eyes were ultra-sensitive. So my eye care insurance plan has probably changed every year for the past 5 years or whatever…so I again had to go to a new doctor to get my eye exam (I just picked a doctor of the list of providers). And of course the doctor wants to switch me to a different kind of contact lenses that he prefers. Uh no. I hate that. Just give me what works. Anything else will turn out to be a disaster…But I’m a wuss…so I’m humoring him. I’ll try them for a week until I have to go back for a follow-up. We’ll see. It may last a day before they drive me crazy like the Acuvue advance did last year.
So I’m almost half way through the new Harry Potter. I was pissed that my vision wasn’t good enough to read it when I got home from work today, but it’s better now. I’m a pretty slow reader, but I’m still incredibly worried someone is going to spoil it for me. I really like it so far.

The newest and last Harry Potter book is due out in just 3 days! I’ve had it preordered forever from Amazon. I’m really excited yet kinda scared to read it. I don’t know what is going to happen. I’ll just let you know that I’m the slowest reader ever. It’ll take me like a month or more read it. And that sucks…cause I’m sure my sister will be calling me like the day after the release wanting to talk about it…ugh. And I have to be careful to avoid any and all spoilers on the internet. I don’t want to know who dies or what the big plot twist is until I actually read it for myself.
I read that a copy of the book has leaked onto Bittorrent already and there are already people out there posting spoilers…I have no desire to download it. I can wait the 3 days until I have my very own copy. Please I urge other people to just shut the fuck up and don’t tell me how it ends

It’s almost April and I’m still using Christmas stamps. The only thing I ever seem to use stamps for is to pay rent, and I guess anything else I can’t pay online. How did we live before we could do everything online? It all seems so archaic. Even writing checks in general, aren’t you annoyed by the old lady in front of you at the Walmart checkout who is writing out a check. I’m sure your bank gave you a debit card, bitch. Use it.
Mike has a job interview today. I bet he will do well. Unfortunately, I bet it’ll be mostly a weekend job to start. Ah well. Alone time can be good. I can snuggle with kitty, and watch cartoons. I guess that’s not much different from what I would do normally.
I guess the cover of the new Harry Potter book has been revealed. It doesn’t really say a lot to me. There was a lot that was kinda left open in the sixth book, so I’m really interested to see how it is all going to end. I honestly will be really disappointed if Harry dies. We’ll see. I hope no one spoils it for me. I’m an incredibly slow reader. So I’m sure my sister will have it finished in one day, and call me to tell me. She’s done it with the last few books.
