They make is sound like Ohio is purposely trying to put payday lenders out of business, and take away the rights of people. No. Payday lenders have every right to stay in the business, they just have to follow the rules and regulations set forth by the state of Ohio, which says that the maximum annual interest rate for loans be 28% (not the 391% payday lending loans currently charge).
Please, vote YES on this ballot issue (House Bill 545) in November! And if you’ve signed a petition to repeal under false pretenses, please have your name removed by contacting Ohioans for Financial Freedom at 614-477-5042.
This happened almost an entire month ago! Why isn’t America hearing about it?
Thank you Ellen for bringing attention to this important issue. My deepest condolences to the family and friends of this little boy. I just keep thinking…I find it admirable for a young boy to just be himself in a society that looks down on differences in sexual identity and orientation. When atrocities like this happen, it hurts on so many levels, for the loss of someone so young and also for that other little boy out there that might be scared to be himself tomorrow. Please give some thought to how you as parents portray your views to your children. Are you passing on intolerance that should long be dead? Please, teach acceptance!
Although I found the “ick” factor somewhat amusing, I don’t really understand what the big deal is…
To me it is just another piece of meat. A collection of proteins or whatever. It sounds like the ultimate goal is to make meat of a higher quality faster. So I don’t understand what’s wrong with that.
Do people think if they eat it they are going to turn into some sort of genetic mutant? Or is it just the slippery slope? Pretty soon the government will start cloning us all against our will…and we’ll completely lose our identities as individuals…
I don’t know. I just don’t see the big ethical dilemma here. Someone explain the problem to me on a level I can understand. And don’t tell me it’s just not in God’s plan, or it’s blasphemous and/or I’m going to hell.
Findlay is flooded again. 2 feet below the big August flood. It sucks. And now there is a boil advisory, so we can’t even drink the water. Mike and I made it out just fine again. The creek behind our house flooded a little, but it seemed to all just pool in the neighbors yard. And now it is frozen. You could go ice skating back there.
I feel bad for all those people who probably were just feeling like their lives were getting back to normal after all the loss from the summer flood, and now they have to relive the nightmare all over again. And this time with the added bonus of cold weather…wonderful.
