Today I got to play guinea pig for Mike’s nursing clinical exam. He had to give me a physical in front of his teacher. He was all worried about it, but he ended up getting a near perfect grade. But ya know…He wasn’t the one who was half naked laying on a bed in front a complete stranger…come on.
Did you hear that a beagle won best in show at the Westminster Dog Show? His name is Uno and he is like the cutest thing ever. See for yourself.

I love my cat Talula. I call her my little nugget. But she’s been doing this thing where she jumps up in front of our brand new expensive tv, and you can tell she wants to start swatting at stuff moving on the screen. I’m so worried that she is going to scratch it up. Like I said, I love her, but when I catch her up there, I grab her by the scruff of her neck and slam her down on the ground and say “Bad Kitty!”. Ya know, cats are just not like dogs at all….they don’t seem to understand the discipline at all. I just hopes she eventually gets it.
So yesterday was Valentine’s day. I kinda just let it float by…I didn’t wear red or pink. I didn’t buy Mike anything. He didn’t get me anything. I guess we’re just not into it…

My little Peytie-Pie hadn’t been doin very well the past few days. He was having trouble eating and drinking, and wasn’t moving around very easily. Poor little guy.
We decided it was best to get him euthanized. I’m glad that we have the liberty to decide when it is best to let go of our pets. I don’t feel he was in much pain yet, and I didn’t want it to drag on unecessarily.
So now he’s up there with all our beloved past pets. I bet there are lots of cookies, and cheese, and peanut butter, and anything else a rat could ever want up there.
I think we were able to give him a pretty good life, and we definitely benefitted from having him in our lives. We will miss him very much.
Love you Peyton! Maybe I’ll see you again some day

Mike and I adopted a new little himalayan kitty. She is adorable. These are just camera phone pictures, but as soon as I find the battery charger for my real camera, I’ll be taking more. Everyone has been getting along pretty well, but she is a little too small to completly trust KC with her. Makalu hissed a little the first night we brought her home. But he’s getting used to her quickly.

I’m so freakin bored. There is a level 3 flood warning right now. So I can’t really go anywhere. We were able to leave work early today, which was nice…but now I’m just really bored.
Check out these pics of the flooding of the creek by our house. I’m not the greatest at taking pictures…but you kinda get the idea. I went to let KC out this morning, and I was like wtf! Ya see I’m too lazy to listen to the news or radio so I didn’t even realize there was a chance of flooding. Comforting right…At least my house didn’t flood. And at least we don’t have a basement…cause it would probably be pretty flooded about now. It seems like a bunch of my family here in town had flooding in their basements.
Driving to work this morning was interesting. I went one way blocked..back the other way…blocked…I had to take the most round-about out-of-the-way way to work. Ah well. Everyone else was way later than me.

Having a bad morning. Of course, I was running late, and I spilled my coffee all over the counter. And I was trying to scrounge all my bills together cause I got paid today, and I was going to bring them with me to work to pay over lunch…why the hell can’t I just keep all my bill in one place. Some are on the computer desk. Some on the kitchen table. A couple on the living room coffee table…Ugh. And then I couldn’t find the god damn water bill. I remember opening it. I at one point held it in my hands…but for the life of me, I could not find it this morning. My puppy probably ate it.
Speaking of puppy…I posted some new pictures on flickr. Some real cute ones of KC and Makalu. They are both getting big. We probably feed them too much.

I saw the Simpsons movie last night. I liked it. There were some really funny parts. I can’t help but say, though, I was hoping for a bit more out of it. But you should definitely see it. If just for the Homer’s obsession with that pig!

Yesterday Mike and I watched Ratatouille, and I have to say it was a great movie! The main character Remy reminds me so much of my pet rat Peyton. Do you see the resemblance? I just hope this movie makes people have a higher opinion of rats. They are wonderful pets!
Mike was recently accepted into the nursing program for Spring 2008. That is great news! He’s pretty much taken all of the other required courses, he just needs to start the clinical courses…and he finally can now…well, beginning in 2008
That isn’t too far away.
I’m sick of bitching constantly that all of my clothes are too tight, and I really don’t want to buy a new wardrobe. So as of today, I’m going on the South Beach Diet. I did it once before and I lost a bunch of weight and I just remember feeling good about myself. So I guess it’s a lot of lean meats, eggs, and veggies for me for awhile…I can handle it.
I like to browse those deal-a-day offers like Woot and Amazon Gold Box. Well the other day I saw that they had 1000-count Grand Sheet sets for sale at Amazon Gold Box normally 499.99 for only 39.99. I bought a set and they arrived yesterday. They are pretty damn nice. I’m not really sure what makes them “Grand” but I like them.
