There is a woot-off going on today. To anyone who doesn’t know what woot is…it is the greatest deal a day site ever! It has way cheap new or refurbished cool stuff (most of the time).
Here is how it works. There is one item for sale during the day. It is available until it either sells out (which happens a lot actually) or the day ends (at 12 pm central time - yeah central time for idiots like me who keep refreshing a bunch of times at 12pm eastern…and nothing happens.) Anyhow, the deals are pretty good, but the site in general is just cool. They have a whole community…a lot of the product details are pretty funny, and I just like the honesty of it all.
A woot-off is a special event where when an item sells out, they immediately post a new one…it usually lasts a day or two. It’s really fun for those geeky people who have no life like me
Anyhow…check it out. You have nothing to lose.

This is cool news. I absolutely can’t stand all that pre-installed shit that clutters up your brand new computer. Dell Kills Crapware…Almost and Dell Lets Users Refuse ‘Bloatware’
Oh and check out dell’s awesome new laptop. I want one. XPS M1330

I’m so freakin tired. I’ve been painting all day yesterday and today…and I dunno…maybe since I suck at it and don’t exercise regularly…I now feel like I’m dying. We’ve lived here for over 2 weeks now, and it is still a complete mess. I think I’ve finally accepted it though. I was so stressed out and anxious and whiny and bitchy because I just wanted everything done. Mike keeps trying to remind me that we have a long time to get the stuff done. So I’m better…but I still wish I could find the tweezers….and everything else for that matter.
I’ve been using Ubuntu for about a week and I love it! I have it all fancied up now with Beryl themes. It’s fun…I really like the wobbly window and max/minimize effects. It doesn’t take a lot to be better than Windows XP I guess.
Anthony mentioned in a comment the other day that he wasn’t able to get some videos to play like at BBC and CNN. I’ve found that he is right. Some sites require you to have a different variety of media players like Windows Media, Real Player, and Quicktime. I have a Quicktime alternative, and I’ve installed codecs to be able to view wmv files…but the web is a different story. Ah well. I’ll let you know if I figure out any workarounds, Anthony…cause Ubuntu is just fun.
Well back to painting. I’ll post some more diy pics in a bit.

I was just thinking about that new service from Verizon Wireless. Supposedly you can just hold your phone up to record a music audio clip, and the software will search for the song and you download the full song to your phone. I think that this is a really cool idea. Granted, I probably wouldn’t pay for the songs, but it would be cool just to find out who the song is by…am I right?
But have you seen the commercials. Omg. I don’t know if they have their marketing angle all wrong or what. But I don’t want to look like a huge dork pointing my phone at random stores while walking about town. Seriously watch them. These people look absolutely crazy.

I’ve been trying out Ubuntu Linux on my desktop and I have to say that their tagline is very true. It just works! I was so pleasantly surprised at the ease of installing it, and the lack of any configuration tasks to get everything working. It’s been fun so far. I’ll let ya know if I run into any snags. But so far, it’s been faster and more stable than Windows, which makes me very happy.

How much time do you think you waste in a day just staring at that damn hourglass cursor? It just mocks you.
So Seattle was good. The weather was nice and the city was really pretty with all the hills and water and what not. Lots of lesbians live there. No big deal…just something I noticed. I’ll post pictures later today hopefully. Pictures of Seattle, not the lesbians
Gian and Anthony’s house was super cute. I hope we can get our house in order before anyone wants to come visit..
We have a ton of junk but I still don’t think we’ll be able to fill up the house. There is a dining room. What the hell are we gonna use that for? Dining….ha. That’s what the couch in front of the tv is for. We have one little table that we have in our kitchen right now. That little two seater would look pretty stupid in the middle of the dining room. hehe. Maybe it’ll be the office, and we’ll just have an extra guest room. That’d be nice. I guess we’ll figure it out.
I’ve been annoyed with Mike lately… pretty unnecessarily. He’s taking it pretty well though. I just feel like I’ve been obsessed with the house, and I’m cranky that he’s not as obsessed and crazy about it as I am. Like I’ve been packing and thinking about all the stuff we’ll need, and I get all enthused about it….and he doesn’t really have any comments on anything. I think he’s just recovering from working and finals. He’ll get excited in the coming days.
