choke on that causality

Now with paradox correcting time codes.

So I’ve been working on this photo collage for a couple of weeks now. It’s pretty cool, it’s 3-d, and colorful, and fun…but dumbass me was putting the finishing touches on it the other day… I put a coat of clear polycrylic over it out in the garage…and instead of drying, it froze. Now it looks kinda strange. Like cloudy/crusty, but I refuse to give up on it. I will salvage it somehow.

I guess I haven’t had a whole lot going on as of late. I downloaded Visual Boy Advance, a Nintendo Game Boy Advance emulator, and have been playing Final Fantasy I&II: Dawn of Souls on it. I like it, because there is a ’speed’ button you can press that literally speeds up the emulation, so you can just fly though some of the more monotonous random encounters. I also learned how to use some of the built in cheat search functions to do some tweaking to my stats and inventory. Yeah some people think that takes the fun out of it…but do you know how many times I’ve played this game? Too many to count…so I’ll do whatever I want with this round. So don’t give me shit…

So what else? Oh I’m planning a vacation with our friends Gian and Anthony. We are planning to go to San Francisco in June. None of us have ever been there. So if you’ve been there, and know some good places, please comment. I’m pretty excited about it. We haven’t been on vacation since we went to Las Vegas in November 2006.

I was sick yesterday, so I stayed home and slept most of the day. I did receive my copy of the brand new Futurama dvd, Bender’s Big Score though. I just have to say it was freakin awesome! I loved it. I can’t wait to watch it again with Mike. I don’t know if he’ll be able to appreciate it quite as much as me….but I bet he’ll still like it.

I also played the new Super Mario Galaxy game. Woah. Probably not a good game to play when you aren’t feeling well. Don’t get me wrong. It is super fun. I’m sure I will like it a lot. But it made me feel kinda dizzy and a little naseous from the odd planet curvature am I upside down or what perspective. It’s going to take a little getting used to. But a lot of detail went into this game. Why can’t more games be like that? Detailed not nauseating.

If one more god-damn person honks at me for not turning right on red, I swear I’m going to put my car in park, get out and go smack them in the head. For real, I don’t have to turn right on red. Isn’t that my right?

Mike and I exchanged christmas presents already, because two packages came in the mail yesterday and he could absolutely not wait to see what they were. He hadn’t even bought my present yet, so I told him if he bought me Super Mario Galaxy (with a $10 off coupon from Best buy), then he could open his presents. So now what do I have to look forward to on Christmas? Being with me family. Uh…no. Ah well. At least I got a new video game out of it. Although, as of now, I’m not letting myself play it until I at least finish Rogue Galaxy. Which is fun by the way…it’s just not keeping me all that interested.

I’ve discovered this new site called Alluc.org. It is pretty much just a collection of links to view online tv shows, movies, and cartoons. I’ve been addicted to watching Superman the animated series. I also got to watch the first few episodes of Conan the Adventurer. Do you remember that? Awesome.

Last night we decided we were going to try and let puppy sleep with us in our bed instead of her crate. We take naps together all the time, so I figure it could work. Well about 1:30 in the morning she started pushing me and squirming all about. Then she jumped off the bed and started snooping about the room. Ya know…I love that puppy a ton…but I still don’t trust her. She would find something to get into. So she made it about 2 hours before I couldn’t stand it anymore. Back in the crate she went.

Today I was getting coffee in the break room, and I couldn’t believe it, but somebody had unscrewed the powdered creamer container so I just dumped it everywhere. WTF? I didn’t realize I worked with a bunch of 12 year olds. Luckily no one saw the incident.

In the mornings I use this hair product that I like, but after I first put it on it ends up getting a little crunchy wet look so I have to wait a few minutes then kinda break it up and then it looks decent. Anyhow, sometimes I’m in a hurry and on the drive to work I realize I still have the crunch going on up there…so I have to do it in the car. The problem is I get gunky sticky hair product all over my hands. Well I got an idea. Mike left all these latex gloves in the car from when he used to drive it to work. I don’t really remember why he had them. He just did. Anyway…imagine me with a latex glove on primping my hair on the drive to work. Works well….I just happen to look a little crazy.

Last night the season premiere of Heroes was on…at the time I was completely absorbed in my video game. Final Fantasy XII. I love it. I know it’s a year old…but it’s still a good game. Anyhow. I saw the red light on and I knew it was set up to tape. Well when Mike and I finally sat down to watch it after 11ish…I pressed play and black screen. The info said it taped from 8:59 - 8:59. What the fuck! What a god damn stupid piece of fucking shit. Everytime something important is supposed to tape it messes up. Not all those reruns of Roseanne and Star Trek Voyager I tape…but the important new shit. This is like the 4th DVR we’ve had from Time Warner Cable and I’m getting fed up. Tivo is looking better and better.

We are all approved for a loan for our new house that we haven’t found yet ;-) I should be really happy, but big stuff like this always seem to just make me nervous and irritable. I’ve been eating cookies like mad for some reason. At least I have a good video game to occupy much of my time.

Super Paper MarioI got Super Paper Mario for my birthday and it is incredibly fun. I really like the humor in it too. Like there is this character that is supposed to be a huge tech-geek, and some of the things he says were just so funny and true. You get to play as Peach and Bowser too so it is cool. It’s kinda rpg style kinda not. Like you have Health Points and attack/defense points that increase as you get points, and you can buy items with coins and stuff. But it isn’t turn based fighting which I really like. It makes it feel more like a class Mario game.

I do have a couple of small complaints. Although it is super fun to switch from 2d to 3d, it is awkward trying to move around. Maybe my depth perception is just bad. I dunno. Plus even though you are 3d, you can’t change the camera angle so if you try to walk backwards you might accidentally fall off of a cliff. woops.

Also there are things called cool moves or special moves or something like that you can perform after an attack to gain extra points. So if you jump on an enemy, right after you can shake the controller to perform a move. It just feels like an awkward transition to me to start shaking the controller…so i just don’t do it too often. So I’m totally losing out on points and probably not gaining levels as much as I should. Ah well.

Also I like the variety of items but it is just kind of a pain to open up the menu and use them, so I just don’t do it. Also, you can’t carry very much stuff which is annoying.

All things considered this is probably the best game for the Wii right now. You should definitely check it out.

I get deja vu all the time. I get it so often that sometimes I feel like I’m having deja vu of having had deja vu about something…weird huh. Perhaps it’s just that my life is incredibly monotonous…or maybe it’s just a glitch in the matrix.

Glitch. I hate that word. People only use this word when trying to “dumb down” a technical problem. How about “User Error”? That one should be used more often.

Oh my god. I know this is like incredibly long…but after watching the first couple of minutes of this Mario video…I about peed myself, and then continued to laugh on inappropriate occasions throughout the rest of the day. Check it out. Frustrated with Mario.
